Murals
and Restoration Gallery J: Indonesian
Embassy
I worked on a crew with other artists working for Evergreene
on this job, a major restoration project that took us nearly
a year to complete. As you can see, the ceiling was pocked
with marks and needed a thorough cleaning; a delicate process
done with cotton swabs. I learned a great deal from Tom
Moore on this job. In the 6th and 7th images here you can
see him tracing the pattern for the decorative desgin. This
was my initiation into decorative art restoration, and I
would later take the skills I learned with me to my work
at the Library of Congress.
